The Hollydell Hurricanes Pee Wee AA Division ice hockey team returned home from the Washington, D.C., Congressional Cup last month with the championship title after a close 3-2 battle with the Hockey Club of Dallas. Shawnee’s girls basketball team claimed their first South Jersey Group IV championship win since 1999 in a 57-37 win over rival Lenape, thanks largely to junior guard/forward Nikola Williams exploding in the second half with 20 of her game-high 22 points, followed closely by Olivia Askin with 14. The Renegades went on to reach the state final before losing to Paterson Eastside and finishing with a 26-5 record.

For the girls, Carly Pettipaw defended her 400 meter title, while the 4x400 relay team of Ariel Mitchell, Sam Maynes, Shannon Storms and Pettipaw came in first.

8A Lady Chiefs
Marlton
The Marlton Recreation Council’s 8A Lady Chiefs travel basketball team, coached by Bill Cummiskey, captured the ICBL Senior Division I crown last month in thrilling fashion when they topped Rancocas 35-26. The girls capped an impressive season in which they went undefeated, including all tournaments.

Voorhees Middle School Wrestling Team
Voorhees
The Voorhees wrestlers enjoyed a dominant season in the South Jersey Middle School Wrestling League, posting a perfect 12-0 record during the regular season and finishing in first place in the Patriot Division. They went on to beat Cinnaminson in the first round of the playoffs before dropping a close match to Collingswood in the league semifinals, 40-36. They bounced back from that loss, however, and ended the season with a victory over Delran in the consolation final.
