The Quakers turned in a dominating performance at the Burlington County Scholastic League Championships, taking the Liberty Division title thanks to a strong team effort. Six Moorestown runners placed in the top 10, led by Genevieve Cickavage, who took first place with a time of 18:54.

Marlton Chiefs youth football team
Marlton
The Marlton Chiefs 85-pound varsity youth football team claimed the regular-season championship in the South Jersey Elite Football League Olympic Conference. The Chiefs went 8-1 during the regular season, and seven of the wins were shutouts thanks to a dominating defense.

Gloucester County College women’s tennis team
Deptford
The Roadrunners defended their national title, winning their second straight NJCAA Division III national championship in Flushing, N.Y. The victory capped a remarkable season in which they went a perfect 13-0 and also won their fourth Region XIX crown in the last six years.

Haddonfield High School girls tennis team
Haddonfield
The Haddonfield girls tennis team extended its streak of Group II state championships to six with a 3-2 win over Holmdel in this year’s state final. The Bulldawgs went on to reach the Tournament of Champions final before losing to Group IV state champ Millburn, 4-1, in a rematch of last season’s TOC final, which Haddonfield won.

Cherokee High School girls volleyball team

Cherokee defended its title in the Burlington County Open with a 25-23 comeback win over Northern Burlington. The Chiefs went undefeated in the tournament, also defeating Seneca, Rancocas Valley and No. 1 seed Moorestown. Outside hitter Jenna Haxton was named Most Outstanding Player of the tourney for Cherokee, which is ranked in the top 10 in the state.

The Renegades seized their third straight state championship by winning the USBand Group IV Open title at Rutgers. Shawnee won awards for best music, best effect, best visual and best color guard. With the title, Shawnee moved on to the National Championship.

Cherry Hill East High School boys cross country team
Cherry Hill
The Cougars claimed team titles at the Camden County Championships and the Olympic Conference Championships. At the county meet, senior Ben Dillon captured first, just one second ahead of teammate Aaron Groff, a sophomore. At the conference meet, Groff led three Cougars in the top 10 with a second-place finish. Dillon, Dan Helfand, Christian Mele and Jeff Braun all finished within 45 seconds of each other.

Haddonfield had an outstanding showing at the Colonial Middle School Championships, held at Pennypacker Park. The Bulldawgs placed six runners in the top 10, including the top three in Casey Clarke, Lilly Minor and Isabella Miller. The other top finishers were Gabby Barranger in fifth, Grace Gray in sixth and Isabella Dekluyer in eighth.

Washington Township
The Minutemen, ranked first in the state for much of the season, remained undefeated as they won the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association Tournament for the first time ever. They topped Timber Creek in the final, 3-1, as Derek MacKinnon scored two goals and Lou Vilotti added one.

Voorhees Phoenix youth soccer team
Voorhees
The Voorhees Soccer Association U-12 team tied for first place in its flight at the 13th Annual Woodstown Columbus Day Tournament. The Phoenix posted a 2-1 record at the tournament, which included a 4-3 win over Monroe Township and a 2-0 victory over Pennsville.

Mount Laurel United Pride youth soccer team
Mount Laurel
Competing in a tough flight at the Jersey Premier Soccer Columbus Day Tournament, the Mount Laurel United Pride U-11 girls team finished in second place. The Pride finished with a 3-1 record as they defeated Jersey Shore, New Jersey Crush and Pemberton by a combined score of 14-2. Their lone loss was a 2-1 defeat against the Jersey Premier Soccer Royals, who finished in first place.

Washington Township
The Minutemaids brought home a pair of first-place finishes from the Spirit Extreme Spooktacular, hosted by Hammonton High School. In the Varsity Advanced Division, Washington Township scored 285.9 points to hold off Timber Creek for first place. In the JV Advanced Division, the Minutemaids cruised to the title with a score of 252.6 points, more than 30 points higher than their nearest competitor.
